Republicans say we're "hypocrites" on AWOL because Kerry protested

What can we do about this? They don't even explain the reasoning (in their letters to newspapers, etc.) --- they just point out that Kerry protested as if that's all they have to say in order to neutralize the AWOL attacks.

It's really disturbing that they think this way, and that they assume it's the way everyone else would think. They're not even drawing a distinction between a decorated veteran and a draft-dodger; they seem to believe that a "patriotic" draft-dodger is more ethically sound than an anti-war vet. It's really strange thinking.

The concept of the "conscientious objector" has no meaning for right wingers, as we learned from the Clinton years.

This, and the stupid woman from NBC asking Sharpton "why" Bush would lie (as if the reasons for going to war were some kind of impenetrable mystery) have me really concerned.
