4. I question the timing...
It might have been an honest decision for Miller to jump fully into the conservative camp, but the timing makes me suspicious.

First, it's a given that conservative mouthpieces on TV/radio generate more ratings heat than liberals. If you want popularity, you gotta bash liberals. (For some reason, lots of Americans love to see defenders of social justice be ridiculed. Says alot about what people really believe, but I digress.)

But Miller just happened to publicly declare his (new-ish) loyalties around the time he lost his Monday Night Football and AT&T gigs (and I think his HBO show was done too)--the same time many liberals were bashing the Bush administration for the Gestapo Act, I mean Patriot Act.

Miller's a smart guy. He undoubtedly saw the writing on the wall. If he wanted a show again, he'd have less of a chance if he was doing "anti-American" material.

Enter the New And Improved Dennis Miller.

In some ways, it's still Dennis Miller. And I can understand if someone disagrees with my view of his recent past. But there's SOMETHING peculiar about the timing in all this.
