Why has no one ever just asked the "war president"

"Sir, why didn't you enlist during the war? Your poppy was military, you were supposedly such a Texan badass, so why weren't you active duty?" This direct question would make his apoplectic showing on MTP seem Churchillian. And it would be an enormous hoot to see.

Understand, I know perfectly well why he didn't, but I can't think of a more sanctimonious, flag-wrapped "patriot" to ask this of. As the Democratic field is full of men who know what combat when its not being filmed by Tony Scott.
