28. Reagan was a fraud
wrapped in a soundbite.

He signed 7 tax increases, despite being beloved by conservatives for cutting taxes.

He was a divorced former alcoholic, accused of rape and estranged from at least one of his children, despite being beloved by conservatives for standing up for family values.

He relied on his wife, his chief of staff and his ideologue pals for direction on virtually every aspect of his presidency, despite being being beloved by conservatives for leadership.

He killed thousands of peasants in Central America, coddled dictators, traded with terrorists, and presided over BY FAR the most corrupt presidential administration in history. He joked about nuclear war, forgot the names of his cabinet members and mourned dead Waffen SS Stormtroopers as 'victims'. He gave us Saddam Hussein.

Everything that came out of his mouth was a rehearsed lie, disengeuous polictical claptrap or blather. He was a disgrace.

No one deserves the condition he is now in, but he was an awful president. Matthews is such a smug sycophant - he's just an inch-deep concubine for the monied status quo. I don't know how he can look at himself in the mirror anymore.
