He didn't come right out and deny such an office. He simply said that all intelligence to the president came from him (did call himself "the intelligence community") and from nowhere else. Without naming the OSP he did deny that the administration got any information from it by saying that he was the sole source.
I'm sure he was creating himself an "out" by couching the phrasing in such a way, but for all intents and purposes he denied its existence nonetheless... making him a big, stinking liar as far as I am concerned.
