Dio Blames Faulty Codpiece for Unscheduled Testicular Cameo

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC - The good Dr. Dio apologized profusely to a packed-house in South Carolina today after a "full wardrobe release" accidentally revealed the aging singer and Presidental hopeful's left testicle to the assembled masses.

"It was for a show later that night in Greenville" Dio told reporters after the event. "After the third encore -- if the audience is ready for it -- my guitarist begins a solo and walks in front of me, releasing the codpiece with the tip of his guitar. The lights focus on me, pyrotechnics go off from the back of the stage and the crowd just goes nuts. It's worked as a great show ender from Davenport to Duluth."

Also apologizing for the mistake was Poison front man Bret Michaels, who after a rousing introduction of RJD, missed a handshake that ultimately "released the dragon" on Dio's spandex campaign suit.

Hot on the heels of the escapade was his label's announcement of the latest single off the "Killing the Dragon" CD entitled "Throw Away The Children", set to be heard at radio stations across the country starting tomorrow morning.
