I know many people love to "google" but let me show you how to "google" congress.
Want to know what was said on the floor of the Senate?

Thomas-U.S. Congress on the Internet
http://thomas.loc.gov/

From that page you see the search engine with:
LEGISLATION****CONGRESSIONAL RECORD***** COMMITTEE INFORMATION
Text search
(101st-108th congress)

Click on text search under CONGRESSIONAL RECORD.

It'll take you to the latest Congress 108th.

We are just looking for a name that may not be used often like Saudi, or Sept 11th. For this example:

Omar al-Bayoumi

put that in the

Word/Phrase:
Search for exact word

Click on Search.

(If you wanted to look up a specific member of congress, you can but for this example leave it alone. You would do that in the
Member of Congress search)

You'll see it bring up both the House and Senate links.

Click on one.

It will say for example:
the Speaker:
Page# (H8225) (for the House of Rep)
Senator Graham:
Page# (S12865) (for the Senate)

The link is to the page it is on. If you click on it you will find the transcript.

Queries do not last long. So you may have to search again. It pays to copy and paste onto word or notepad so you will know where to find it again if you expand your search.

Now, go test & teach yourself about what your government is doing!
