I vaguely remember this subject coming up as a thread a few months ago with a bit less 'data', but about the same quality (if you will) of evidence.

If you look at the budget of NIH there is annual funding there for about 40,000 person-years of research activity. Throw in about half again as much in the way of private sector funding- about 60,000 person-years total. Given that a lot of clinical studies are done with partial funding of the investigators (often doctors with active clinical or private practices) you can find at least 75,000 people with academic affiliations and credentials equal to or higher than the people cited in the conspiracy theory inside the United States. I'd guess that reduces the 'odds' of what happened to under 1 period of 4 months in 5. Maybe likely during one four month period of every year (iow, 1 in 3).

Btw, I have friends who used to work in Don Wiley's laboratory. If someone is bumping off biologists, which no one actually believes, the perpetrator obviously has no clue about biology or the actual work being done by the people whose deaths are allegedly a pattern.
