Jesus Christ, secretly buried in a bare, rocky tomb donated by a faithful follower, his body swathed in simple homespun, while his equally modest disciples (including women) come to lovingly annoint the body with oils.

Compare that with the funerial procession for this Pope, in all its earthly splendor, riches and finery. The powerful, the hypocrites and the wealthy get front row seats for the show.

At least Jesus knew the true Kingdom was in heaven, His spirit in earth but not of the earth. I truly wonder what He would make of all this?
