Back when CEOs made 30x the amount of the average worker (as opposed to now when they make 300x the average worker),and was taxed at a much higher tax rate, they still lived quite a lifestyle that was far and beyond anything that most of us can imagine. They prospered and most Americans lived a good life. Of course there was still poverty, but not as wide-spread as it is now, and we *were* working toward making poverty & inequality things of the past. Now it seems that poverty is in most of our futures.
