Arnold thinks he can deliver California to the republi-CONS. Rove and company think so, too. But I think California has a mind of its own. It tends to skew liberal, or whacky (witness falling all over Arnold, regardless what we know about him). THIS Californian plans to do everything she can to leave Arnold with egg on his face. Nobody I know wants to vote for bush anymore. Including my mom and her elderly "squeeze," who says he and his friends are disgusted (you'd fully and correctly expect them to be quite conservative), and in fact have been looking at Edwards.

I do NOT care. Any of 'em are better than bush. PLUS, there is also the discouragement factor, which probably played heavily in past Democratic losses. You start to see the polls leading up to Election Day, and then the first returns on Election Night (from states back east, while WE are still voting!), and people DO INDEED say "what's the use? No point now. I give up." California's 50-plus electoral votes are NOT going to go to bush.
