56. Years ago a set of videos called "Faces of Death"
was very popular (before the monopolists drove all the small independent video stores out of business).
I saw a couple of them, out of morbid fascination but then they simply got boring. I'm afraid that the same thing would happen if there were televised executions- some people would be shocked at first, but would later become desensitized. A few of course (probably around 20%) would thoroughly enjoy them and they'd be likely to demand more as part of their weekly "reality programming."
