It was the first bombing of an in-flight airliner in history. What a legacy. Nevertheless, the Cuban right-wingers in Florida wanted to get him back into the country, and get him a pardon, after the Assistant Attorney General, Joe D. Whitley had acted to keep him out, in his exclusionary hearing, after 31 other countries refused to allow him to enter.

Jeb Bush was Ileana Ros-Lehtinen's campaign manager at the time, and he helped her persuade his father to give Orlando Bosch a pardon, and to allow him back into the country, where he lives as a completely free man in Miami, which, through the actions of their city commissioners, named an annual Orlando Bosch Day, as well as a street.

Ileana Ros-Lehtinen is called "The She-Wolf" by Cubans living in Cuba.
