If Mr. John Kerry did not vote for the Iraq war I would feel much more comfortable with his nomination. His reasons for voting this seem to be one of political sanctuary than of reason. I feel he fits into the good ole boy of the current Democratic Party.
From the sited news article:
<snip> "Tonight is another step in the winnowing process," said Democratic Party chairman Terry McAuliffe. He has said no candidate can survive without a victory in Iowa, New Hampshire or one of seven states holding contests Feb. 3. <snip>
I just hope if Mr. Kerry does win the White House he does not pull a Mr. Bill Clinton and knuckle under to the Republican Party. The Mr. Clinton had lost the House in 1994 with the ineptist of the Democratic Party. One needs to remember that during the Mr. Bush Sr. administration that nothing could be done because of Washington’s “Gridlock”, and so the vote went to the Democrats. The first thing Mr. Clinton did was to stop all investigations of the Mr. Bush Sr. Whitehouse in a gesture to get things moving on. The first thing the Republican House did for Mr. Clinton was to bring up the Gay and Lesbian admission into the Military and made that news for the next three months. The Democrats seemed like they could not do a thing with their majority in Congress and the winning of the Whitehouse. Thus the country started moving to the political right.
If Mr. Howard Dean does win the Whitehouse will he have the control of the Democratic Party? That is a question of organization of power. I have a feeling that the record numbers of voters (which is a good thing) is because these people are not happy with the Mr. Bush Jr. administration and want him gone. If Mr. Howard Dean is elected to the Presidency it does not seem in his nature to let go of the crimes of the Mr. Bush Jr. administration. The reason for the snip of the article above is because Mr. Terry McAuliffe wants Mr. Kerry to win the nomination of the Democrats. Mr. McAuliffe statement is not true because Mr. Bush Jr. and Mr. Clinton both won the election after losing in Iowa and in New Hampshire. This is a control issue.
I just really wonder with Mr. Kerry we will have the same destructive crap coming out of Whitehouse we have had over the past decades or will we have some constructive reformation which we have not seen in a long time!
