GURGAON: It has over 150 IT companies and is the cyber hub of north India, but guess how many cops Gurgaon Police have in their cyber crime cell?

Two — one sub-inspector and a head constable — to fight cyber crime, crack data thefts and investigate intellectual property cases.

Which is why Gurgaon Police has followed the rulebook and made DSP (traffic) head investigations in a high-profile data theft case that came to light on Friday.

According to Haryana law, only an officer of DSP rank can handle cyber crime investigations. Gurgaon has no DSP heading the cell.
