I wasn't 100% behind their 12 planet idea (I thought Charon should just be considered a moon, I don't really care where the barycenter is), but I liked the concept of round + orbitty = planet. It seemed natural. This new definition (if I'm reading this right) has to do with a threshold of orbital eccentricity, which appears to have been arbitrarily chosen at "less eccentric than Pluto." I would have liked 2003 UB₃₁₃ to have been named Persephone, but alas, it's going to be named something else.
