Storm doors for patio doors?

My brother has them on his french doors - the storm is a slider. I have two doors that I would love to put storms on (they both face north and winter is on its way)but I can't find anything on the web that even talks about this type of storm door.

My basement door consists of three panels with the center one being the door - it opens in. A slider wouldn't work, unless I have the panels reconfigured and put the door on the end instead of the middle -I wonder if that is even possible.

Does anyone have any ideas?

1. What about special glass films?

I know there are films to reduce sunlight and heat entry. And I think the ones I've seen in home improvement stores are also supposed to help keep heat inside in winter, to some extent.

2. They make all manner of storm doors, but to know more, I'd need to see a

picture of yours. I read your description several times and still am not sure what you have.

Ever hear of making storm windows with Plexiglas and tubing? They friction fit on the inside frame.
