NatGeo today: "The Truth Behind..." marathon
Edited on Sun Sep-05-10 02:19 PM by onager
Unfortunately, they seem to only be running the shows once, with no repeat.

The Truth Behind...
--the Phoenix UFOs
--Ark of the Covenant
--Bermuda Triangle
--Dead Sea Scrolls
--Nazca Lines

Watched a couple this morning, but I need to do some stuff and have the DVR running. I've seen the "Bermuda Triangle" show before, and it was really well done.

REALLY liked the ending of the "Ark of the Covenant" episode, where they interview crazy Judaic Fundies who are ready to destroy the mosque at the Dome of the Rock...soon as they find the Ark:

"The Ark of the Covenant is still deadly, even if it never existed. It is one object that literally has the power to start World War III. So perhaps it would be best if this mystery STAYS a mystery..."

"The Phoenix UFOs" ONCE AGAIN shows the believers contradicting themselves with their own evidence, and failing to notice. Amazing.

Report came in of V-shaped lights hovering over Arizona, then accelerating away at high speed. Everyone agreed - yep, they were V-shaped.

One guy claims to have "absolute proof" about the lights - a home-made videotape. (!!!)

But his (grainy and poor-quality) video doesn't show a V-shaped formation. Just 5 lights, in a straight line. And despite his claims that they are "symmetrical," they obviously are not in the video - some are spaced further apart than others.
