As for myself, I'm not black, so I can't presume to make comments about how anyone who is black should react, but I'm sure they can all form a reaction on their own without my input.

As a white person, however, my reaction on hearing another white person make that comment was to cringe in mortification. It would be refreshing to have a white person running as president who understood that it's not his place to tell people whether or not they meet his definition of a black person.
