fight racism is to NOT BE A RACIST yourself. That's it.

This sentence in your last paragraph, "If awareness about subtle racism is raised, more people will recognize how they contribute to the problem and work to change" is not correct, in my opinion. People will change when they want to, not when they're made "aware" since they already know what they're doing and why.
