1. You've reminded me of gardening book

my father-in-law had back in the sixties. It was a book from before WW1. Its instructed the "servants" how to gather up and store the contents of the "piss pots" in a barrel at the end of the garden and how long to leave it to stand before use.

Anyone who has ever used buttermilk paint , which contains no vinyl or artificial preservatives , or maybe some of the Swedish coloured wood preservatives , will know what aged cow piss smells like. That stuff even makes my cats chuck up.
