94. 2001 A Space Odyssey.

Jun 2020

I mean, really? Men dressed up in monkey suits at the beginning. Then the middle part where you can tell Pan Am will go out of business before too long, given the skimpy load factors on its earth to moon shuttle. Finally the completely incomprehensible third part that makes zero sense.

In the science fiction world it's regarded as a classic, which I cannot understand at all.

The original short story by Arthur C. Clarke, "The Sentinel" is actually quite good and I'd recommend it to anyone.

As a science fiction person, I find most supposedly s-f movies to be not very good. The very best, most purely science-fictional one I've ever seen is "12 Monkeys". It's excellent.
