(3,891 posts)But we got the Brady Law then. The difference wasn't the NRA, it was us. We didn't make a case. We used the same losing playbook as we've used on every other issue in the last several years. Quote statistics, parade victims. We don't know how to do it any other way. We need to learn, or we'll keep losing, and I'm sick of losing and blaming special interests, or gridlock, or anything else we can come up with as an excuse.
We need to learn how to argue, how to do our homework, and how to get our evidence ready. We need to decide early in the process what our goals are, and stick to them. Blaming the NRA because we were weak guarantees our next battle is also a losing one. We need to throw away the statistic and victim playbook, and get serious.
