War makes staggering profits for American corporations that build weapons and supply the troops and war effort with everything from tires to shoes/boots to laundry services to food, to uniforms to tanks to planes to drones to ships and so on and so on and so on. That, and the fact that our wars, which are continual — we're always at war somewhere because of war profiteering by corporations — are usually fought over non-white countries' natural resources which means even more staggering profits for corporations once the war is over and we've gotten control or split up control of those resources with allies (Iraqi oil for example).

That's it in a nutshell. Our wars are about making money, not for spreading democracy or freedom or liberty or deposing dictators as is fed to us through complicit, corporate-owned media. Hell, we've backed many dictators/monarchies in the past and still do (The Shah of Iran and Saudi Arabia come to mind).

I repeat, our wars are about making money for American corporations and the wealthy people who own them.
