(149 posts)As a gun owner who carries concealed, you have to know the gun laws. And I mean backwards and forwards. This guy committed a crime. It's called brandishing. But she shouldn't have been holding up traffic just to be lazy.
Under the law, at least in my home state of Virginia, what the root cause is legally important. If you do something to escalate a situation, the law is not on your side. If, heaven forbid, that I ever have to use my gun for self-defense, I'm much more likely to avoid getting put behind bars if I don't do a single thing to escalate a situation.
This means, always being polite and courteous while you're in public. I never road rage. I always obey the speed limit. I'm always a defensive driver. I always hold doors for other people. I am as polite, courteous, and gentile and soft spoken in public as I possibly can be. This is what keeps the law on my side.
This woman did not deserve having a gun brandished at her. But she should have had more consideration for other people. And I have no doubt she could have used the exercise if she bothered to park at the farthest end of the parking lot. There's plenty of parking there, folks. Who doesn't need a walk these days?
