She spoke out at the time, just after and since. So she isn't just "choosing now to speak out".

"Did she ever once think that Dixie Chicks, a group formed WITHOUT Natalie and Natalie later became a part of, were 3 people at the time she opened her mouth
and she blindsighted the other 2 members who had their lives and career upended.
They had no idea and were never asked. "

They supported her completely at the time and have done so since.
