Why are you trying to turn this into political commentary? I saw nothing in the OP other than an expression of pleasure that a long, crappy winter is finally over, along with mild surprise that after all that snow now a few people are complaining about the mud. Since I live in the same area, I understand exactly what the OP is saying. And it's pretty straightforward: Spring is here, let's enjoy it.
There is no subtext! Don't try to find one to suit your agenda, whatever that is, where none exists.
