They're hoping that we'll be inured to the horrors that this pandemic and the repuglicons/trump have unleashed on the US.

"Let's all just go back out and party. The old people were going to die anyway."

"Let's open schools and bars and camps. The young people don't get sick --- well, not as sick --- not always fatally."
