hasn't been charged, tried, and convicted of something, how can Pence pardon him? I don't think Pence could do a blanket pardon in advance for all things Trump might be accused and convicted of in the future. As far as I know, even the Catholic church doesn't do those kinds of pardons any more.

By the time Trump is convicted of anything, Pence will not be in any position to pardon him.
