New antiabortion law in Missouri----state legislator-(former law enforcement official) defending law on the grounds that ---wait for it----LOTS OF RAPES ARE CONSENSUAL RAPES-------ok was working on disk in machine shed and now have to get mom's dinner and get her cleaned up---I REALLY DON'T BELIEVE I HEARD THIS CORRECTLY BUT WITH THESE GODDAMN REPUBLICANS YOU NEVER KNOW.----If I am wrong plz correct this stupid redneck---if not----don't tell me until mom is out of ear shot--along with the little ones---uncles cussing lessons should not come with the sense of anger this has caused

Been a tough time lately---Medical issues allover the family--Hip replacements--Mild strokes--Elderly mother with numerous issues--parkinsons, dysphasia, neuralgia--Two others on crutches--one still weighted down with severe depression--am farmer---too wet to get into field to finish spring planting--with all of this a friend sent me this text to spark a little humor to offset the rage of ALABAMA----------------------------------------------------------"in light of their new abortion laws, apparently Alabama SUCKS so bad they actually have to FORCE women to have their children there."-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I hereby give thanks for the "stoner" mentality------if you know enough of them I have found it helps to keep one sane at these times.

Cold, wet day on the farm---cant get in the field----ok so I am taking care of elderly ill mother---85 yrs old---parkinsons, bad---neuralgia--dysphasia-(Cant swallow)---fully fused back--wheelchair on good days--bedridden on others---full time job--now has both hypo tension and hyper tension--blood pressure regulating mechanisms don't always function right--must check blood pressure and other vitals 6-8 times per day-----no sob story---it is what is is----any rate, mom in hypotensive mode today---low blood pressure-- shes HARDCORE DEMOCRAT--Hates trump with serious passion---have had Barr's appearance on tv to slowly raise blood pressure--- sort of working---then Beautiful KAMALA HARRIS just got Barr to basically admit that he had NOT fully reviewed the Mueller report evidence before making a charging conclusion-recommendation. This is something that He also implied would not be acceptable conduct of any prosecutor. Watching Kamala Harris and Cory Booker side by side just made her day as well as mine. THANK YOU MADAME SENATOR -------------- ps Mom's diastolic reading back into acceptable range-- systolic up a little high due to REAL HAPPINESS but well in acceptable range!!!!!

Andy Mckean--longtime republican state legislator from Iowa----switches parties. He sights as main reason the example and behavior of DER TRUMPF------also gives a nod to former Iowa governor Bob Ray. Gov Ray was the example that many young Iowans looked too for integrity and decency even though he was republican. Serious issue for college students and others in Iowa----Legislature wants to change early voting and absentee voting rules-------------------the three worst proposals 1.
would ban any early voting to be held in a state building--think universities---2. Would ask graduating college students if they planned to stay in Iowa upon graduation---if not--- would then be removed from voter rolls----3. if voter doesn't vote in presidential election then registration would be changed to inactive--one step closer to purging the voter rolls.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- don't have computer knowledge to post links to paper and am stuck on dialup. rural area---------------politely request help--papers reporting latest would be DES MOINES REGISTER and propably WATERLOO COURIER-------- plz feel free to start new thread in appropriate place if you have the skills, time and equipment----thanks for any help making this a normal thread just too new--------------- sorry
response to potus sotu threat over investigations
Sorry, been busy with elderly mom in hospital--nothing serious--just routine, but first things first. When President Donald Trump proclaims "For Peace and Legislation there cannot be War and Investigation" my thoughts were very sad. This is shortsighted as well as a possible attempt to intimidate and threaten our legislative branch of government. (Yea, I know, y'all already got that one!) But do we remember our history, as well as human nature? It's sad but when we consider our failings as humans, ability for cruelty, greed, and just plain evil perpetrated upon our fellow man we then conclude how truly NAIVE his statement was. Think of the civil war, world war II, the Civil Rights movement, as well as our own revolution. This is only a short list of massive conflicts--some of which required violent resolution when other options had failed. Therefore my tired response to Donald Trump is sad but simply true. POTUS stated "for Peace and Legislation there cannot be War and Investigation................Donald...............without war (when necessary,)and investigation (of injustice when and where appropriate) ............WITHOUT WAR AND INVESTIGATION THERE CANNOT BE LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!!!....................

O' Great Wise and Noble DU Dwellers, I is too old and way to dumb to quite grasp the way Vice President looks so adoringly at President "Uno the Tiny" Please help me to understand. Is this the repressed homo-eroticism I have heard about? I truly mean no disrespect to our gay brethren. This Vice President looks upon the President with more creepy adoration than Nancy Reagan looking at Dear St. Ronnie with her "I'll Fuck you anyway you want look" They, however were husband and wife. Fine. I got that. But this is too deep, bizarre, and just downright creepy for this to be simple professional admiration. Hell, this is beyond Messianic Worship---WHAT IS THIS? sorry, I'll sit quietly in the corner while waiting for any answers or enlightenment. All help is greatly and gratefully appreciated
