BREAKING: Judge Merchan drops a bombshell on Donald Trump in his criminal hush money trial, reveals a slew of damaging information that prosecutors can mention.
This is it the worst case scenario for Trump...
If Trump takes the stand, the judge has ruled that prosecutors can mention six crucial court determinations from four different proceedings.
1. The $354.9 million fraud case he lost in New York in February for inflating his net worth.
2. Trump was fined $5,000 for refusing to remove a lie-riddled post about a law clerk.
3. He was fined $10,000 for violating a court order by smearing a court clerk.
4. He lost his first E. Jean Carroll defamation case for $5 million. The jury ruled that he defamed and sexually abused her.
5. Trump lost a second defamation against Carroll after he smeared her again. He owes $83.3 million.
6. The case New York Attorney General Letitia James brought against him that showed that the Trump Organization repeatedly engaged in fraud.
Any single one of these would be devastating if mentioned in front of a jury. All of them presented together would be an utter disaster for Trump. They prove that he is a habitual, unrepentant criminal..............

Trump lawyer defends $175 million bond in New York civil fraud case
Source: reuters
April 22, 20249:51 AM CDTUpdated a min ago
NEW YORK, April 22 (Reuters) - A lawyer for Donald Trump tried to convince a judge on Monday that the insurer that provided the former U.S. president with a $175 million bond in his New York civil fraud case was empowered and strong enough to issue the guarantee.
The bond issued by Knight Specialty Insurance is meant to secure Trump's compliance with a $454.2 million judgment won by state Attorney General Letitia James if he does not succeed in an appeal.
.
....................
Knight is owned by billionaire Trump supporter Don Hankey.
At a hearing, Trump's lawyer Christopher Kise assured Engoron that Trump couldn't move money out of the account without Knight's approval, and Schwab would not allow it. "We have to put the money somewhere," Kise said.
Engoron, however, questioned the security of the collateral.
"You keep using the word agreement, what if they break the agreement?" he asked. "It all seems like a house of cards."
..................
James said in court papers that a Trump-owned trust still controls the account, and Knight's own financial arrangements appear insufficient to cover the amount of the bond.............................

I do not see in the article if the Judge resolved this issue--unless I missed it.

Biden marks Earth Day with $7bn 'solar for all' investment amid week of climate action

Funds will be targeted at disadvantaged areas to create 200,000 jobs, after last weeks oil and gas lease restrictions in Alaska

Joe Biden will mark Mondays Earth Day by announcing a $7bn investment in solar energy projects nationwide, focusing on disadvantaged communities, and unveiling a week-long series of what the White House say will be historic climate actions.
The president is traveling to Virginias Prince William Forest Park to deliver a speech touting his environmental record, including measures to tackle the climate crisis and increase access to, and lower costs of, clean energy.
Todays centerpiece is the announcement of $7bn in grants through the Environmental Protection Agencys solar for all program, funded by last years $369bn bipartisan Inflation Reduction Act, which the Biden administration says benefits more than 900,000 households.
The money will be targeted at low-income and disadvantaged areas, government officials say, and distributed through states, territories, tribes, municipalities and non-profits across the country.
Solar projects funded by the program will also create 200,000 jobs, the administration says, and advance Bidens Justice40 initiative, in which at least 40% of the benefits of investments in federal climate clean energy, and affordable and sustainable housing projects, are directed to communities marginalized by underinvestment and overburdened by pollution.............................

How many kids have to die* before @GOP lawmakers come to their senses about banning Vaccine requirements??
This dangerous crap HAS TO STOP!! BUT WHO WHAT WILL STOP IT??
Republicans in New Hampshire are moving to remove its requirement for children in child care to get the polio vaccine.
It would be the first state in the nation to do so.

New Hampshires GOP Is Taking a StandAgainst the Polio Vaccine
The Granite State could be the first to ditch polio and measles requirements for childcare.

New Hampshire could soon beat Floridaknown for its anti-vaccine Surgeon Generalwhen it comes to loosening vaccine requirements. A first-in-the-nation bill thats already passed New Hampshires state House, sponsored only by Republican legislators, would end the requirement for parents enrolling kids in childcare to provide documentation of polio and measles vaccination. New Hampshire would be the only state in the US to have such a law, although many states allow religious exemptions to vaccine requirements.
Currently, Republicans control New Hampshires state House, Senate and governors officebut that isnt a guarantee that the bill will be signed into law, with GOP Gov. Chris Sununu seemingly flip-flopping when it comes to disease control. Sununu did sign a bill in 2021 allowing people to use public places and services even if they did not receive the Covid-19 vaccine. But the next year, the governor vetoed a bill that would bar schools from implementing mask mandates.
The polio vaccine, first offered in 1955, and the MMR shot, which treats the highly infectious measles, mumps, and rubella viruses, are two very crucial vaccines both in the US and internationally. Since the year 2000 alone, vaccines against measles are estimated to have saved over 55 million lives around the world.

Childhood vaccines have helped protect generations of Americans from potentially devastating diseases.
The CDC recommends that kids get their first dose of MMR vaccine between 12 and 15 months of age, and a first dose of the polio vaccine at around two months old. All states currently require children to have at least started vaccination against measles and polio in order to enroll in childcare, according to the nonprofit Immunize.org. A CDC report found that for the 2021-2022 school year, around 93 percent of children had received the MMR and polio vaccines by the time they entered kindergarten. That figure drops to less than 80 percent for both vaccinesthe lowest rate in the countryin Alaska, where a measles outbreak could be devastating. .................................
