A man confused by confusion ...

WaPo reports...

As racial justice demonstrations stretched into their third week, President Trump on Wednesday said he would “not even consider” growing calls to rename U.S. military bases that honor Confederate generals. “Our history as the Greatest Nation in the World will not be tampered with,” Trump tweeted.

Confederate generals are what make us and our history the greatest nation in the world?

Either Or Or not sure.

A Chinese soccer legend has called for the downfall of the Communist Party in shock videos

Source: CNN

A retired Chinese soccer star has openly called for the downfall of China's ruling Communist Party... Hao Haidong, 50, was a household name among millions of soccer fans in China in the 1990s and 2000s..

Hao read out in Chinese a manifesto of the "Federal State of New China," a government proposed by Guo as an alternative to the Chinese Communist regime. "The Communist Party's totalitarian rule in China has caused horrific atrocities against humanity," he said, denouncing the party as a "terrorist organization" that has "trampled over democracy, violated the rule of law and dishonored lawful agreements.... I think the Chinese Communist Party should be kicked out of humanity. The ghost of Communism should no longer be allowed to drift in this world. This is what I've concluded after 50 years of living."

Filing charges in George Floyd's death was the easy part. Now comes the hard part.

Paul Butler is the Albert Brick Professor in Law at Georgetown University. A former federal prosecutor, he is the author of “Chokehold: Policing Black Men.”

Analysis of he difficulties in getting a conviction against a police officer and the rational for the charges that were brought.

I am sympathetic to the desire to see punishment that reflects the gravity of the crime. First-degree murder in Minnesota carries a life sentence; 25 years is the maximum for third-degree murder. But police officers don’t usually get the maximum sentence in any case.

And a convicted murderer is a convicted murderer. That is far more likely with the third-degree charges because the prosecution has less to prove.

Meanwhile, there are risks on the other side. An acquittal in a case like this would be a crushing defeat not just for the prosecutors, but for all Americans who hope to see justice done. This is a case that prosecutors must win — and a third-degree murder conviction is better than no conviction at all.
