It was a manufactured ‘event’ by CNN & a Republican for profit consultant

Maddow: The story behind Michelle Bachmann’s speech — it was a manufactured ‘event’ by CNN & a Republican for-profit consultant

Stunning. It appears from Rachel Maddow’s reporting that there’s a larger story behind the Michelle Bachmann “Tea Party movement official response” to Obama’s state of the union address. Turns out, “Tea Party” doesn’t mean what you think it means; and neither does “movement.”

According to Maddow, CNN has been working with Sal Russo, of the for-profit Republican consulting firm Russo Marsh & Rogers — Rachel used the words “merging” and “partnering” — in several Tea Party–related joint enterprises.

Gohmert: ‘Scary’ that liberal elites would use vaccines for ‘culling the population’ of humans

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) on Monday said that it was a “scary thought” that elites could be culling the population with vaccines to preserve the Earth’s resources.

The Texas Republican spent part of his five-week break from Congress this week by interviewing conservative activist Alan Keyes while filling in as a guest host for Tony Perkins on Family Research Council’s Washington Watch.

Gohmert pointed out that some liberals believed that the Earth was already over populated.

“A lot of people who fancy themselves elites, right, because they’ve made a lot of money, they’re names are all over the media and so forth, they’ve really signed on to an agenda that requires the depopulation of the globe,” Keyes explained. “And in the name of fighting global climatological change, called global warming — that’s proven to be something that’s wrong — they are saying that we’ve got to cut back the population of the world.”

Rick Perry Seeks Obamacare Funding For Texans

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R), a longstanding Obamacare critic, is negotiating a $100 million health care deal with the Obama administration, Politico reported on Tuesday.

The Community First Choice Program, aimed at improving the quality of health services for the elderly and disabled, was approved by the Texas legislature earlier this year. Perry health aides are now looking to the Obama administration for funding.

Maddow: Meet the Republican who’s holding up all legislation in Congress

“This seems like a process story and it’s not getting much press because he’s not that famous,” Maddow said of Goodlatte, chair of the House Judiciary Committee and thus the gatekeeper for any immigration bills. “But he’s the head of the committee who has to make that happen. And he’s saying no. And this is a huge moment on a huge issue — arguably the hugest issue in Washington for four years. And the Republicans are flat-out saying, ‘Nope, don’t care, we aren’t gonna do it.’”

Grover Norquist supports Scott Walker for 2016

Norquist also weighed in on Republicans' presidential prospects, saying he thinks Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has the record to set him apart from conservative competition seeking the White House in 2016.

"There's not one [shoo-in candidate], but Scott Walker, who's done incredible things in turning a blue state red in Wisconsin, has taken on the labor union bosses, has cut spending, has been pro-growth," Norquist said.

The interview is set to air on "Political Capital with Al Hunt" on Friday night at 9 p.m. EST.

John Boehner just does not care.

So far, the 113th Congress is the most unproductive in history. Nearly eight months in, just 22 bills have passed Congress and been sent to the President—worse than the famous “Do-Nothing Congress.”

But even though the House of Representatives has worked for just 87 days this year, Speaker John Boehner just called for a five-week recess and skipped town to go golfing with Donald Trump.

No action on jobs? No problem. No action on immigration? He doesn’t care.

The GOP believes they cannot be voted out of office They think nobody will blame them for this.

Isn't it time to turn a number of Southern States Blue?

North Carolina, Florida, Virginia, and even Texas could all be converted to Democratic Party states with a strong effort and a well thought out plan.

Race is on to define Hillary Clinton’s potential presidential candidacy

The 2016 presidential contest is more than two years away, and Hillary Rodham Clinton has not decided whether she will be a part of it. But the race to define her potential candidacy is well underway — and far outside her control.

Already, independent super PACs have sprouted to boost or bludgeon the former secretary of state, and a television miniseries and documentary are in the works — projects one person close to Clinton called “ill-conceived.”
