Joe Trippi: Accusations against Roy Moore actually hindered Jones Campaign

The key to us having a chance was to detribalize the politics of the state. If Alabama was reacting to the tribal politics of our times, there was no way for us to win. And in a weird way, the allegations created tribalism again. You either believe the charges or you don't believe the charges. Suddenly, we're back into Republicans who don't believe the charges; it's the media out to get Roy Moore. He's able to start tribalizing the race. Trump begins coming in with him. And every time that happened, Roy Moore would open a lead.

Sounds like Sessions may be on his way out.

Trump praised Eric Holder for “protecting” Obama. Called it “admirable”. All this compared to Sessions, of course.

Republicans prepare to throw McCain under the bus for Trump

The House Intelligence Committee has issued a subpoena to an associate of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) over his connection with the controversial dossier containing unverified allegations about President Trump and his ties to Russia, The Hill confirmed on Wednesday.

Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) wants to talk to David Kramer, a former State Department official and current senior director at the nonprofit McCain Institute, about his visit to London in November 2016, a source familiar with the matter confirmed.

The Washington Examiner's Byron York first reported on the subpoena.

Democrats Leave Few Seats Unchallenged

New York Times: “Federal Election Commission filings show that if a wave crashes on the Republican House majority in November, as many have predicted, Democratic surfers will be on their boards to catch it. Nearly a year out from the election, Democratic candidates have filed in all but 20 House districts held by Republicans. By comparison, Democrats in 80 districts do not have a Republican opponent for their seat.”

“The Democrats are not just filing to run in districts where Mrs. Clinton performed well. They are also running for conservative seats that were uncontested in 2016 and where Republicans remain heavy favorites, in states like Texas, Arkansas and Nebraska.”

A Christmas miracle happened at tonights family party

For the first time in in recent memory, Trump-loving conspiracy-theory-sharing Republican cousin-in-law had NOTHING to say about politics tonight. Either my cousin got to him or he’s actually ashamed of his pArty. Either way, it was a great night.

Trump called Murdoch to make sure Disney deal wouldn't affect Fox News

President Trump reportedly called 21st Century Fox executive chairman Rupert Murdoch ahead of Disney's announcement that it would purchase of much of his company to make sure the deal wouldn't impact Fox News.

According to a New York Times report published Saturday, Trump made the call before news of the sale emerged earlier this month.

The president frequently watches Fox News and often tweets about the network's coverage of his administration.

Murdoch reportedly assured Trump that the network would not be impacted by the sale.
