Also, the DJIA tanked today, and he's surely taking that very personally, and wondering what to do about his collapsing campaign and the economy that is about to crater all over again (just like so many of you predicted it would).
Well, we did learn how grateful and fortunate we should feel
if we "only" lose a quarter million Americans by autumn.
Meanwhile, I'll order another half dozen cases of canned tuna.
It must be "Tony", Danny's imaginary friend in The Shining.
Psychologist: And does Tony "tell you things"?
Danny: Tony is a little boy that lives in my mouth... and it's like he shows me things
This is how I see it too
It's also how he's rationalized allowing the pandemic to run amok. In his mind, we all deserve to be punished for not appreciating that he is a "great president, as great as or greater than Lincoln." It's part of a pattern of vengeance that is a core characteristic of his very being.
It's also an extension of his promised revenge against Impeachment.
He fails, and then he justifies his failures retroactively as "successes."
We'll I'm glad he's spending so much time fighting with Fox News
It's kind of like Hitler yelling at Goebbels while the Red Army marches on Berlin.
Top GOP senator fears Trump is 'soft' with independents, urges shift in strategy

The remarks by Sen. John Thune come amid sliding presidential poll numbers that have sparked concern among Republican leaders.
The Times/Siena national poll found Biden winning 50 percent of registered voters, with Trump winning 36 percent. Among independents, Biden led by a substantial 18 points.
"Right now, obviously Trump has a problem with the middle of the electorate, with independents, and they're the people who are undecided in national elections," Thune, R-S.D., told reporters in the Capitol. "I think he can win those back, but it'll probably require not only a message that deals with substance and policy but I think a message that conveys, perhaps, a different tone."
In 2016, Trump won independent voters by 6 points, according to exit polls compiled by NBC News.

An observation from a Twitter user:

Text: For him to say this kind of thing in public means they know their Senate majority is probably gone. Its a heads-up to colleagues that the OK to distance from Trump is imminent.
Interesting. Wishful thinking? Or is he onto something? It goes without saying, Trump will be unable to "switch tone."
Thanks for the encouragement
I'm so tired of being lectured to ignore the polls, like I'm a little child incapable of both understanding and paying attention to polls, and working hard to get my candidates elected.
Thank you
Anyone who wants to ignore the polls is welcome to.
I'm not ignoring the polls.
I'm going to allow the polls to motivate me and continue to work like my life depends on it and continue to make donations to my candidates.
Paying attention to the polls and working hard are not opposite concepts. They are complimentary.
When Serena Williams steps onto a tennis court, she believes she's going to win. It doesn't make her play less hard.
Two things aren't mutually exclusive
It's possible to both be excited by the polls and to work hard.
Being hopeful and excited about the polls is not equal to complacency.
If we aren't excited and hopeful, what is the point? The next five months would be pure agony if we weren't hopeful about something.
Some people work harder when they are motivated by the prospect of winning. Ask any athlete if it's possible to both work hard and simultaneously believe you are going to win.
It's difficult to do a psych profile of a world leader who keeps his mouth shut, like
Kim Jong Un or, to a lesser extent, Putin. It's probably a dream job to be working in MI6 or Mossad and be asked to assemble a profile of Donald Trump.
