Human Rights Day 2014

May 30, 2014

I never thought that I would see the Human Rights issue made fun of on DU.

A world wide effort to ensure that all people be treated decently and fairly with dignity and respect.

Human rights are basic rights and freedoms that all people are entitled to regardless of nationality, sex, national or ethnic origin, race, religion, language, or other status.

Human rights include civil and political rights, such as the right to life, liberty and freedom of expression; and social, cultural and economic rights including the right to participate in culture, the right to food, and the right to work and receive an education. Human rights are protected and upheld by international and national laws and treaties.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is the foundation of the international system of protection for human rights. It was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10th, 1948. This day is celebrated annually as International Human Rights Day. The 30 articles of the UDHR establish the civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights of all people. It is a vision for human dignity that transcends political boundaries and authority, committing governments to uphold the fundamental rights of each person. The UDHR helps guide Amnesty International's work.

We also use these principles to help us define human rights and the issues we relentlessly fight for.

As a sentient being, a thinking, feeling, perceptive member of the Human Race allow me to

answer you questions in the order you asked =

Are you really able to do that, YES or is something else happening?NO

Are you confusing differences of opinion regarding political methods and objectives with hate?NO

Does a mere difference of opinion constitute hate?no

Does a failure to embrace feminist ideology with sufficient fervor constitute hate?
substitute the word human for feminist and ponder your own question.

Does not telling you what you want to hear constitute hate? I would rather deal with your honest hatred than your mealymouthed, smarmy, passive/aggressive comebacks

Please note this was answered by an Individual of the Human Race. There is no MindMeld. Other PEOPLE may answer your questions differently. I speak only for myself.

I have a list (not on paper) of what I look for in a man. Off the top of my head, I am interested

in these qualities =

Kindness and a sense of humor,
common sense,
an awareness of their surroundings,
comfortable in their own skin,
likes to visit the cities but prefers to live in the country.
a sense of wonderment about the universe.

I can not speak for anyone else but, I would consider these attributes to be the proper criteria for me.

A sort of yang to my yin, if you will.

Dude's Demand for an Open Relationship Backfires Spectacularly (Careful what you wish for)

The post originally appeared in the site's Relationships subreddit and has since been deleted, but lives on at the Redditlog archive. You see, this fella had a problem, which is that he really liked his "sweet, attentive, caring and supportive" girlfriend of two years, but his eyes had started to wander. He was feeling "disconnected from her and the relationship." So he created an account at sexed-up social network Fetlife (just to look at the pictures, honest!) and discovered lots of "hotter women" willing to chat with him.

Voila, a solution: Demand she admit to an open relationship, since "physically my desires were completely elsewhere," or they break up:

I spoke to her about this and, well, it broke her heart at the time. She was sobbing on me the whole night of me talking to her about it, saying she wanted to be monogamous and she didn't like the thought of an open relationship at all. She asked for a couple of weeks to think about it, which happened, but when we spoke about it again she told me she still didn't want to do it. I had to tell her at this point it was this or break up as I didn't feel fulfilled. At this, she said okay, she would try the open relationship.

Flames. Flames, on the side of my face.

But there's a twist! You see, OP's girlfriend decided to sign up for a Fetlife account, too. And suddenly, men are lining up:

There are men crawling all over her, her profile, her pictures she's put up. I know for a fact that she's been on a heck of a lot of dates, both with people from the website and off it, and I also know she's been intimate with many of them too (I keep seeing comments on her pictures saying vulgar things like 'God I miss my mouth around those beautiful breasts' etc from other men who I know she has been on dates with..)

Meanwhile, Mr. Rational has been on one date and has not hooked up with anyone. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE:

PSA for PUA ...

May 12, 2014

it *will* is what I said/meant. it is coming to that. there will still be a hierarchy. By no means

am I discounting your experience, I am speaking to a future that, if not changed, will be a future of inherited capital whereby none of us really matter to the 1% except for what we can do for them. *In my opinion* this is one of the reasons we are seeing so much push back from Old White Men on this site. They are just now starting to feel the effects of being *underprivileged* and they don't like it.

At some point, if we do not turn things around, it will come down to INHERITED CAPITAL.

The louder we hear Middle Class Old White Men scream, whine, moan and carry on the more it proves that it is happening.

It is a conundrum because they are just now feeling it and they don't like it.

Hell, Welcome to the club Old White Men. We haven't LIKED IT FOR A LONG FUCKING TIME.
