I think it's essential to understand this if we want to
progress as a humanity.
What is that root? It is ignorance.
All hate springs from ignorance,
compounded by misinformation.
I have the impression that people think it should not be the
responsibility of minorities to educate racists; or feminists
to educate misogynists; or gay men and women to educate
homophobes; is this a correct impression?
In my experience,
the only thing
that can remove ignorance
is knowledge.
Once in a blue moon anger will get through; every so often
a battle is won by force, and necessarily so. But the real work,
lasting long term, is education. Help people turn on the lights,
so they can see for themselves.
The ones already educated -- who understand
issues deeply thoroughly and personally -- are
in my opinion the only ones qualified to educate
others about these issues.
Without being issue-specific, I have often felt this way:
Help me!! Help me to understand! I do not WANT to be XYZ, I can not see myself, HELP ME understand
what you see, and how I/we can move past it.
Sadly too often the response has been unfriendly and disheartening, like Fuck you if you don't already
understand.
Two teachers, one classroom of students.
One teacher resorts to anger, shaming, insults;
the other uses kindness, humor, tolerance,
forgiveness, an occasional ROAR when needed.
Love is powerful. So is Humility.
Kindness is SUPER-powerful; it
can totally disarm assholes, who
generally are stumped for a response.
Listening & Understanding are Superpowers.
They allow you to see into the other person, and
to find loopholes, weak spots in their ignorance.
Forgiveness is also a superpower which, when used
appropriately and at the right times, can help
prevent illnesses brought on by anger, stress.
Those quotes make my heart ache. It's a tug, really, not a pain.
Our real power is love. We mustn't try to make it live by
our rules. Sometimes Love rises up like a lion and roars,
and moves mountains.
The rest of the time it's teaching, guiding, strengthening,
encouraging, growing, nourishing, creating, transforming,
evolving, sustaining, balancing, rejuvenating, digesting & resting.
It's easy to get misunderstood here, or else I express myself poorly.
I'm not a fan of him or his policies, and I don't know enough
specifics to inform others. I am talking about the superficial
impressions of many young people who aren't terribly
informed politically, to whom Paul has an appeal because
of his "apparent" stands on issues that matter to them.
I can pass along links and so on to a few of them, but I
think it's worth a concerted effort on the part of progressives
and/or the democratic party to understand the libertarian
appeal to the young. They do not think of it as Republican,
they think of it as less authority.
Speaking of shellfish, I understand that's the foundation for the greedy policies
of the right. Shellfishness, which may come from eating
bad shellfish, or an hereditary bad gene; anyhow.
The unshellfish ones will win in the end, since they did
not eat from the oily Gulf; the leeks shall inherit the
earth, but I'm not sure what else.
If anyone dares to point out that RP has some sane thoughts regarding
warmongering, civil liberties, war on drugs, etc., they are
attacked here as a Rand Paul troll.
My point of view, having listened to many young people
in recent months -- not those who've been active Obama
supporters, but their peers, far and wide: they find these
issues compelling; they also are sick of both political
parties in general and lean "libertarian." I will point out
there are vast numbers of them. They may be poorly
educated about politics but they're a force.
Posters who express this sort of thing are not promoting
Rand Paul, but suggesting Hillary may have some serious
competition, if she's the candidate, because of these
particular issues.

I confess that I recoil when people use the word "should"
in regards to my life; however I do understand what you
are saying and don't disagree.
Still, no matter who wins or loses elections, comes
in and out of power, I will have a voice for peace as
long as I have breath. It's the one thing that can not
be lost.
There can never be peace on earth until there is peace
in the hearts of human beings. That is you and me.
I can't say what you should do. But the pursuit
of peace, inside and out, is not to be missed. And I
personally believe it is the shortest route to the solution
of most problems on the planet.
That is my biggest should in life, if anything is.
I should and I must, while I am alive, be the most human
I can be. Because it is beautiful, and right. Because it is
real, and steady. Peace is the reason I even have a voice.
In general I'll vote for those I view as moving and/or
inspiring the country in that direction. (They tend to
be Democrats.)
I think morality is innate in the human heart, something everyone is born with.
People interfere with this morality, while it is still potential.
Well meaning adults instruct the children wrongly -- so that
instead of looking inward for right and wrong, they are taught
to mistrust themselves, and follow external experts or
authorities, who may or may not be immoral; more often
than not, they are.
But the true morality -- it is innate! Not constrained by
rules, definitions, or even language. It is a living part of
us, alive and spontaneous as each moment requires.
And I think, real empathy is part of it, that part of us
which is able to feel. The heart leans toward compassion,
patience, peace, and fun. Morality is all in there.

Missouri’s Militia was recently at Bundy Ranch protecting innocent Americans from the CORRUPT FEDS who have NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN TERRORIZE INNOCENT Americans.
