LibGranny's JournalSwelling in hands & feet
My daughter has been having severe swelling in her hands and fingers (to the extent she can't wear her wedding rings) and in her feet. Her feet are so swollen that you can't see the ankle bones on the sides. This began after she returned from a trip to Mexico (in January) and has been ongoing since then. She's seen a rheumatologist, cardiologist, and her family doctor but no one seems to be able to definitively diagnose the problem! They think it could be Rheumatoid Arthritis or something called Chikengunya (?).
I'm wondering if anyone else has ever experienced these symptoms and what the diagnosis is?
She's in her early 40's; has been to Mexico every January for the past 20 years; and her hands are so swollen they look like a fat claw. She can't bend her fingers!
Wish I lived in Virginia! I'd video tape Sen Pat Roberts as
he leaves his house there to go to work (or anywhere)! He claims to be "from" Kansas but he's only ever here to campaign! I understand he maintains a room w/bath somewhere here in KS so he can claim residency! What a scumbag! Even a still pic would be great!
Start a petition to get rid of him - also let people know who sponsors his show so
we can boycott those sponsors. I don't watch him so I don't know. Never have liked him because of the dead intern who worked for him and then he resigns his job in Congress?
Anyone suffer from chronic leg cramps (Charlie Horses)? I've had this problem
for nearly 5 years and I've tried potassium supplements, calcium supplements, an OTC med called "Leg Cramps" (which worked for a while) and then talked to my doctor. He ordered a Doppler test on my legs (which revealed nothing) then said to continue with the Leg Cramps med as it contained quinine. I am about 10 lbs overweight and normally walk 3-5 miles a day (wearing good athletic shoes). I was awakened 2 days ago with the WORST leg cramp ever and my leg is still very sore and I'm at wits end.
I'd appreciate any advice from anyone who suffers the same problem!
Turkish Artillery Targets Syria after Deadly Shelling
Source: Google News
Turkish artillery fired on Syrian targets after deadly shelling from Syria hit a Turkish border town on Wednesday, sharply raising tensions on a volatile border that has been crossed by tens of thousands of Syrian refugees fleeing violence in their country.
In a terse statement, the office of Turkey's prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, condemned shelling that hit the Turkish town of Akcakale, killing five local residents and wounding a dozen others. The shelling appeared to come from Syrian government forces who were fighting Syrian rebels backed by Turkey, which has called for the ouster of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
"Our armed forces at the border region responded to this atrocious attack with artillery fire on points in Syria that were detected with radar, in line with the rules of engagement," the Turkish statement said.
"Turkey, acting within the rules of engagement and international laws, will never leave unreciprocated such provocations by the Syrian regime against our national security," it said.

Perhaps this is the distraction President Obama had during tonight's debate!
Great News!
My 87 year old mother-in-law told my husband she is voting for Obama this time! She was totally against him last election but she now says she can't stand rMoney! I'm so happy I'm gonna make a donation to Obama's campaign!
for Obama along with most of my family!
Although, I too, am somewhat disappointed more wasn't accomplished during his first term, I realize he had to deal with that bunch of idiots (aka Repubs) who stood in the way of any kind of progress - unless it was against abortion! I would vote for him just based on the fact that he's married to Michelle and not her highness Ann Rmoney!
I refer to him as Joe "DeadIntern" Scabro!
suits him
And Romney is an asshole for lots of reasons
