femmocrat's JournalThat's so funny!
I bought a fancy food processor a number of years ago because I always wanted one. Well.... it came with a VHS tape to show you how to use it. Since I no longer have a VCR, I can't watch the video, so I now never use it! It is so darn complicated, even assembling it, that I just gave up and use a knife.
I also don't have/ don't want an iPhone. My old fashioned cell phone is fine for as much as I use it. I leave it in the car for emergencies.
No. I am just against everything the NRA does and stands for.
They create a cute cartoon character, even videos with bouncy music and catchy slogans. They give the kids stickers and comic books. They have these programs in schools, so kids think the NRA is school-approved. The children associate all this with "fun," right? So, they remember the fun, the mascot, the cartoons, the music.... and oh boy, it's about guns! So guns must be fun, too!
And BTW... why an EAGLE? Are guns also patriotic like our national symbol?
It takes "Just Say No" and Joe Camel to another level, IMO. It reminds me of the propaganda put out by the gas and oil industry about "energy" and pedaled as science curriculum.
An interesting article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/paul-helmke/nras-eddie-eagle-doesnt-f_b_572285.html (There are many more if you google them.)
Not really. I need more context to make better assessments.
BTW. Did anyone get a text box at the end asking if the alerter's intentions were sincere---- or something like that? I thought it was kind of creepy as we are given so little information and then are asked to interpret someone's motives???
I have done 2-3 juries a day and have only seen that once. What is it for?
It's over. Thank you, democrats!
Thank you brave and patriotic congress people. You did a great thing in the past 25 1/2 hours.
The members are now going outside to meet with supporters.
Turn on MSNBC RIGHT F-CKING NOW!
Rep. John Lewis is leading a sit-in to demand action on guns.

Happy 34th Birthday to Prince William!
No pool.
We rarely went swimming. We either hung out at the city playground (asphalt!), played in our or other kids' yards, or explored the woods. It was the 1950s. Today, we would be called "free-range"!!
I wonder why we never minded the heat when we were kids.
We were outside from dawn to dusk.... and beyond sometimes. Never complained about being too hot!
None. Not for a long time, anyhow.
We seem to be magnets for attracting a-hole neighbors. We had wonderful neighbors at our first house and still keep in touch. But out in the country, people keep to themselves.
So sorry about your dear friend. I'm sure your efforts to stay in touch and cheer her up are appreciated.
