WSJ on Romney: we don't silence fools.

Oops. Sorry. That was WSJ on his criticism of the consulate press release over the Innocence of Muslims, not just about Romney.

Never mind.

RMoney was supposed to appear on Neil Cavuto at 4pm EST. Anyone see him?

I blocked Faux from my cable so I cannot watch even if I wanted to. (and I deliberately forgot the unlock code).

Morning Jo is such an asshole.

Although he did admit that the twit is doing himself no favors.

But his treatment of senator Conrad is just rude.

I think reports of discord within Romney's camp is disinformation

First of all, I have to admit that if they were true, the many reports (Think Progress, Politico, Huff&PuffPo, NYT) suggesting that there be discord within the highest leaches within Team Romney would be pleasing, amusing, and energizing.

But I cannot believe it. The unemployment rate is high, and ever so slightly decreasing. Gas prices are high, and ever so slightly decreasing, now that all reformulations for Winter are complete. Food prices will be high, given this one in a century drought. People are hurting, the jobs market sucks, and companies are hoarding trillions, without hiring new workers. If it were the fault of Obama, he would be 20-30 points down. Instead, people rightfully blame the person who destroyed our economy, our military, and our reputation globally, one George W. Bush.

I cannot believe that Romney, a guy who has run for this office for six straight years, could concoct a lame, ridiculed, and laughable convention. I would have expected it to be ship shape, tightly organized, and convincing as any Reagan promo piece.

I cannot believe that Romney, a guy who has so many contacts with former US jobs abroad, given that he sent them there, would blow such a lay-up of foreign meat 'n great, to England, to Poland, and to Israel (where is classmate is now Prime Minister). It has to be a set up job, pretending to be inept, incapable, tone-deaf, and insulting to his several hosts.

I cannot believe that a guy who has run for this office for 6 years, didn't figure out a way to clean up his taxes, to deal with his foreign investments in the Caymens and the Swiss banks. I cannot believe that he didn't plan out, to the most incredible detail and degree, proposed tax, regulatory, and spending plans, with information sheets, press briefings, and detailed, factual arguments to support his candidacy.

I cannot believe that a guy who has strived for the presidency for 6 long years, did not spend any time considering which VP nominee would offer him the best benefit across the nation, making a natural match, and exciting the base!

Could it be that Romney is deliberately making like an idiot, attempting to make Obama and his team overconfident, lazy, and smug? COuld this all be a master plan, intending to spring some October surprise on the unsuspecting US voting population, and snatching victory out of the jaws of certain defeat?

Or his is truly such a walking cluster fuck that nothing he does or says can convince people to vote for him.

Vin Weber - the perfect Romney spokesman

I just watched Weber try to explain the Romney faux pas yesterday.

The summary? It was an apology, (from the embassy) it didn't work, therefore it was proper for Romney to attack Obama.

For those who don't know Weber, or tried their damnedest to forget about him, he was a pre-Bachmann entity from Minnesota. He was called either the most conservative, or most ridiculous congresscritter on more than one occasion.

He's a flag-burning member of PNAC, the neocon group which wants to nuke the Middle East into a glassy plain (except for israel), and was a staunch opponent of women's rights.

Serving as Romney's economic advise makes perfect sense. After all, Weber was one of the several Congresscritters who routinely bounced checks on the House Bank (a convenience that allowed congressmen grab some cash at odd hours). more than 100 checks totaling many thousands were kited by Weber, leading to his ouster from the House.

If Romney can promote himself as a business guru, after destroying jobs, companies, and livelihoods, then Weber is the perfect economic advisor for him.

John Husted, not just a cheat, but a gutless cheat.

Pity the State of Ohio.

Not only have they suffered self-inflicted wounds from various pols and legislation, the state has now become a poster child for idiots in office, starting with its uber-governor, John Kasich.

Tea Baggers, it seems, are alive and well, within this otherwise beautiful and friendly state.

Take John Husted. Please. This piece of shit fucked over the whole state as a legislator. Not once, but twice. No, make that three times. It must be his charm.

The first time? Husted was leading the legislature when he torpedoed a steel mill investment that would have brought thousands of jobs to Ohio.

The second? Husted, as a fool-fledged, Catholic member of the Tea Bagger Troup of morans, decided to protect the Church instead of the hundreds of victims of childhood sexual abuse by priests.

Now? this one is the doozy. In order to protect the white vote, he decided to screw minorities, working women, and liberals, cutting back on access to the voting booth ONLY IN THOSE AREAS THAT VOTE D.

This was too much for even our conservative Federal Courts. The District court judge ruled that Husted's clearly partisan orders were not legal.

fter being summoned to court by a federal judge, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted on Friday backed away from his order that would have banned counties from planning for early voting.

Husted’s original order had essentially ignored a ruling by U.S. District Judge Peter Economus, who declared that the state couldn’t take away early voting in the three days before the election. Economus sided with the Obama campaign, which sued Ohio to get the early voting re-implemented.

In a court filing on Friday afternoon, Husted said he “apologizes to the federal district court” for creating what he called the “misimpression” that he was ignoring the order. “The Secretary would never intentionally contravene an order issued by the federal district court or any other court — and this case is no exception,” the filing said.
