Police officers and National Guard forces in Minneapolis shot paintballs at residents standing outside on their porch, as a curfew was enforced throughout the city.

A video posted on Twitter on Saturday night appears to show the Minnesota National Guard and state police ordering the residents of one street to go inside, before they turn their weapons on a group of residents.

The footage captures people rushing inside the property after shots are fired and shows where one member of the public has been hit by a paintball.

Armed officers can be heard shouting “light ‘em up” before the shots start.

At around the time of the shooting on Saturday, an 8pm curfew was implemented in Minneapolis, the city where protests started after the death of George Floyd on 25 May.

Prather says she’s been alarmed not to see the CDC or WHO come out with a strong statement that people could catch COVID-19 by breathing it in.

“It’s just shocking to me, quite honestly, that this has not been factored in.”

And she believes masks can play a major role in stopping that transmission.

Protestors demanding justice following the death of George Floyd made their way toward The White House on Friday. The protest started at U street in northwest Washington, D.C. at 5 p.m. local time, but after the large crowd made their way toward 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Chief Political Correspondent for Sinclair Broadcast Group, Scott Thuman, tweeted at 7:30 p.m. that The White House was going into lockdown.

The large protest taking place in the nation’s capital on May 29 was just one of many happening around the nation. On Friday, people gathered in Louisville, Los Angeles, New York, Denver, Pheonix, Memphis, and Columbus in reaction to Floyd, a black man who was killed in Minneapolis when a police officer, Derek Chauvin, knelt on his neck while three other officers stood by watching.

As The White House went into lockdown, NPR correspondent Tamara Keith reported that many were reporters stuck inside. She said, “A law enforcement officer was brought into the grounds in distress to have his eyes washed.'”

Secret Service chased him into the march, threw him on the ground then led him away. Bottles thrown. A Pennsylvania Democratic lawmaker joined colleagues on his side of the aisle in lambasting a Republican lawmaker for keeping them in the dark about testing positive for the coronavirus.

Rep. Brian Sims, D-Philadelphia, delivered an epic Facebook Live rant on Wednesday about the exclusion, saying state House Republicans called for in-person committee meetings to argue that business sectors were safe to reopen even as they knew they had been exposed to the virus.

"Every single day of this crisis this State Government Committee in Pennsylvania has met so that their members could line up one after one after one and explain that it was safe to go back to work," he said. "During that time period they were testing positive. They were notifying one another. And they didn’t notify us."

"I never ever, ever knew that the Republican leadership of this state would put so many of us at risk for partisanship to cover up a lie," he said during the nearly 12-minute tirade. "And that lie is that we're all safe from COVID."

Rep. Andrew Lewis, R-Dauphin, said in a Facebook Live address Wednesday night, hours after he publicly announced he had tested positive, that he informed as few people as possible about contracting the coronavirus because he wanted to protect the privacy of those around him and because he was only in close quarters with a handful of house colleagues.

The Minneapolis police officer shown on video kneeling on George Floyd’s neck as Floyd pleaded for help, along with another officer who stood by and watched, have both been involved in use-of-force incidents over their careers.

Officer Derek Chauvin has been identified as the officer pinning down Floyd in the now-viral video, which shows Floyd saying he can’t breathe repeatedly before losing consciousness. Floyd later died. Four officers on scene have been fired. They have not yet been officially identified by department officials.

Chauvin, 44, is a 19-year department veteran. Department records and news accounts show that he has been involved in several police-involved shootings over his career.

In 2008, Chauvin shot and wounded Ira Latrell Toles during a domestic assault call. According to a 2011 article from the Pioneer Press, Chauvin and other officers showed up to an apartment in south Minneapolis just before 2 a.m. Toles grabbed for an officer’s gun and Chauvin shot him in the abdomen.

In 2006, Chauvin and five others responded to a stabbing. After Wayne Reyes, 42, allegedly pulled a shotgun on the officers, one of the officers shot and killed Reyes, according to a report titled “Stolen Lives” from Communities United Against Police Brutality, a police watchdog nonprofit based in Minneapolis.

A white woman has apologized for calling police on a black man in Central Park on Monday, after the two argued about her unleashed dog.

Amy Cooper told CNN she wanted to "publicly apologize to everyone."
"I'm not a racist. I did not mean to harm that man in any way," she said, adding that she also didn't mean any harm to the African American community.

She was walking her dog Monday while Christian Cooper was bird watching at a wooded area of Central Park called the Ramble.
Amy Cooper and Christian Cooper are not related.
They both told CNN the dispute began because Amy Cooper's dog was not on a leash. Dogs are supposed to be leashed at all times in the Ramble, according to the park's website.

The dog has been surrendered to the shelter he was adopted from days earlier while the dispute is addressed, according to a Facebook post from Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue, Inc.
"The dog is now in our rescue's care and he is safe and in good health," the post said.

As the total number of coronavirus infections in the Washington region topped 90,000 Sunday and fatalities hit 3,880, a one-day spike in the District’s numbers raised questions about whether it can begin reopening as expected on Friday. And social media ­images of a crowded Ocean City boardwalk and an unmasked Virginia governor mingling with beachgoers had many wondering whether safety guidelines meant to contain the disease were being taken seriously enough.

LaQuandra Nesbitt, director of the D.C. health department, said in a call with reporters Sunday that data collected over the weekend shows that the number of cases linked to community spread — calculated by the date of symptom onset and excluding cases at confined facilities such as nursing homes — increased from a low of 68 on day 12 to 118 on day 13. This jump broke a 12-day streak of declines and meant the city had to “reset” to day 11, Nesbitt said.

She declined to say whether that means the city is reconsidering lifting restrictions on Friday, deferring questions to Mayor Muriel E. Bowser (D), who is expected to announce her decision Tuesday.

The District on Sunday recorded five deaths and 144 new infections, just above the seven-day average of 141.

“We’ll have to let the graph speak for itself,” Nesbitt said.

Dangerous Delusion: Speaking at a rally outside the San Antonio City Hall, Bexar County Republican Chair Cynthia Brehm made the outrageous claim that the coronavirus pandemic is a Democratic hoax.

A viral video from Texas shows a Republican Party leader speaking at local rally calling the coronavirus panic a hoax being perpetrated by Democrats with the goal of hurting Donald Trump, then encouraging people to take off their face masks.

The video showed Bexar County Republican Chairwoman Cynthia Brehm speaking at a political protest against continued restrictions meant to slow the spread of the virus. Brehm said that a requirement to wear face coverings is a violation of people’s constitutional rights and hinted that the coronavirus panic is being manufactured by Democrats in order to hurt Trump.

Brehm, speaking at Friday’s rally, declared:

They asked us to wear masks, and according to Attorney GeneralPaxton, this is unconstitutional. So if we don’t want to wear masks, this is our choice.

This is America, and we shouldn’t have to be forced or mandated to wear a mask.

Brehm continued:

Why is this happening today? And I’ll tell you why: all of this has been promulgated by the Democrats to undo all the good President Trump has done for our country — and they are worried. So, take off your masks, exercise your constitutional rights. Stand up, speak up and vote Republican.
