What choice would they have? To go after all 50 GOP senators and install batshit insane psychos in their place? 
If anything, trumpers would disengage from the process completely, thus freeing the GOP from more MTQ types.
If MoscowMitch were a smart man, he'd consider this option. 100-0 to convict. Case closed, no drama or singling out of any members. But he's not... so....

Think about the bravery of Officer Goodman and the other heros who put their lives on the line to protect the Capitol. They don't deserve to have sitting senators mocking and/or ignoring what they went through that day.
Can Democrats prevent Qpublicans from reading books and not paying attention during the trial?
I assume if a juror tried that in a regular trial they'd be dismissed and replaced. Why are republicans allowed to take our tax dollars while neglecting to uphold their duties?

Insight into the "Warnock - Perdue" republican voters in Georgia
"It didn't seem like there was a lot of daylight in terms of policy in terms of their stances on Trump, in terms of what they do for Georgia between David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler," said Bernard Fraga, a political scientist at Emory University. "So the fact that a relatively small number of Republican voters were willing to vote for David Perdue but not Kelly Loeffler is an interesting phenomenon."
Nathan Muller is one of these Georgians who saw daylight between the candidates where campaign strategists designed there to be none.
"...(Loeffler's) messaging was just so, you know, bang, bang, bang the drum for Trump. 'More conservative than Attila the Hun' ... Like, are you nuts?" Muller said, referring to a series of ads the Loeffler campaign released, which featured an actor dressed up as the barbaric ruler from the 400s.
That ad also cost Loeffler Matthew Mutnick's vote. He's another Perdue-Warnock voter, who works in finance in Atlanta.

I know this is old news considering the insurrection that occurred, but I'm glad NPR did this story. I think it's important to clarify what happened since some were trying to suggest that the vote differences were a result of black anti-semitism. When you look at the vote totals, it's evident that Perdue received around 20k more votes than Loeffler, which is about the same margin between Warnock and Ossoff. It's really interesting, since those republicans could have abstained from voting in the Warnock-Loeffler race, which would have made it appear as though 20k voters only voted for 1 candidate.
I wish pence could be impeached too. He could end this crisis right now, if he wanted to
but he's cowering in a corner somewhere... avoiding calls and still covering for the guy who tried to have him killed.
I fully understand that attempting to impeach pence right now would be foolish and unsuccessful.
Here's his plan: arrest Hunter biden, then wait for all the fallout
and high-pitched shrieks from Democrats about not arresting political opponents and their children. He'll let the outrage go on for the final two weeks of his presidency, and then he'll pardon Hunter (and himself) with a fake, reality show speech about unity.
tRump's expectation is that Democrats will be held to the same standard with regard to him and his children. 
I just don't see how this can continue
We've been at a stalemate for decades now--unable to address important problems related to healthcare, new technologies, etc, because republicans are OBSESSED with women's vaginas, discriminating against minorities, and increasing their personal portfolios at the expense of Americans and our country.
They don't give two shits about this country nor the people in it.
They are just takers at this point--benefiting from the huge accomplishments that were a direct result of diversity and immigration, while publicly asserting to their followers that diversity and immigration are bad.
They don't understand cause and effect. They don't understand history. They are too stupid to lead. Yet, here we are. At the mercy of crooked and compromised individuals, like Moscow Mitch and Lindsey Graham.
WE DESERVE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THIS!
Are we witnessing the beginning of the end of the United States?
And if so, what should we be doing right now?
I don't know what to make of the 18 states asking the Supreme Court to invalidate my vote and millions of others.
Then we have the death threats and incitement to violence coming from the very top.
What exactly are we observing right now?
