Couldn't agree more, with the deepest regret.
It is terribly sad, blue neen. I found my way here in early 2001. DU got me through bush/cheney. It got me through the first days after my mom died. I miss the way it was. People were a lot more civil to each other and there was an overriding sense that we were all in this together. Now - it's deteriorated so badly that I no longer feel at home here.

It's never easy. Even when you expect it because of long and incurable ailments, or advanced age or impairment, or even if you weren't on good terms with each other. It's STILL not easy.
All my sympathies, my friend. Been there. Felt that. I like the way you put that, too - "my Mom has been called from this life." Very gentle and poetic. I suspect she'd like how you put that, also.
I'd guess it's far more than just one video.
Trump has generated loads of footage on the anti-Muslim theme alone. He's all over TV and he's generating libraries full of material for ISIS and other adversaries to use. LOADS of it. Clip after clip after clip, soundbite after soundbite after soundbite, and if you missed it, it'll repeat at the top of the next hour. ISIS is quite media-savvy. They'd have to be living around the clock with blinders on and earplugs in, and inside a capsule about 10,000 feet underwater NOT to see all the media attention Trump gets, or how often his offensive comments are replayed. No one can convince me there isn't a boatload of Trump video they're exploiting out there to recruit new ISIS followers and suicide bombers and other assorted terrorist wannabes. ISIS is a shrewd lot.

WHOA! "Incessantly requesting evidence to back up their claims." WHOA!!! I've lost count of how often I've seen that elsewhere here. CONSTANT demands to produce proof, produce links (over and over and over: "Link?"
, and then snarking "Crickets." Or "SEE! They can't produce any proof!!!" "They can't back up what they say!!!!" "That proves it RIGHT THERE!!!!"
MAN! That's a revelation, Starry Messenger! I had no idea. I'd never heard of that before (you learn something new every day!). But then again, I'm no gamer, never have been, not interested in it, never been in or looked at that world. I know NOTHING about that stuff. I know other parents whose kids locked themselves in their bedrooms and gamed all day. Even well into and after their teens. I thank God my kids didn't do that. They kinda got interested in the real world, instead.
I never bit on those demands here because all that info has been discussed, detailed, referenced, links produced, and posted again and again, earlier in the year. Or, as one of us posted (paraphrasing): "check out the Hillary Clinton website - it's ALL there," and provided THAT link. Still no good. Still didn't work. Still didn't help. Still didn't turn the heat down. Still made no difference. Proof, at least to me, that the only thing that's desired here is simply to stir shit up. Which leads to suspecting disruptors, moles, and trolls.
Maybe most of 'em are gamers?
Well, as a Hillary supporter, I understand that one first-hand.
