calimary's JournalWelcome to DU, MiltonBrown!
Your own personal family story makes the OP's speculation solid gold.
I would guess that EVERY American who served, and had the misfortune of being a POW at one time, would take offense. And rightfully so. I take offense and I've never served in the military in any capacity! I hate to see bad guys win. trump thinks because he "won" he's right and he's entitled and he's some kind of anointed one that we should all bow down to.
But he DIDN'T win, at least not legitimately. He's NOT a legitimate president. He WASN'T elected legitimately. His whole "administration" is a damn farce. I look forward to the next Democratic president and Congress undoing whatever bullshit "legacy" that this vulgar, vainglorious creep leaves behind. And for his "White House" "portrait," I suggest a photo of a pile of whatever you find in the nearest dog park.
Fuckin'-A.
Stunning!
Just breath-taking, DemoTex!!!
Thank you so much for posting these! They're spectacular! Really leaves you in awe of nature.
I fucking love Andy Borowitz!
Wow! 50th! Congrats!
You're gonna look just great, and you ALL are gonna look about equally broken down! At least that's what we all joked about at my 40th. I'm four years away from the half-century party, but I imagine there might be one. THAT'S a big deal, 50. We were kind of a rebel class. Few of us had bothered attending previous reunions or staying connected with the old alma mater, and nobody from our class ever turns up with any mention in the alumnae journal that's mailed out every quarter or so. But hitting a milestone like Year 40 was kinda unavoidable. So we all got together for a celebratory weekend at a nice hotel, miles AWAY from school. In the next county, for that matter!
Shit! You too?
That's what I said to my husband this morning when we turned on the news and saw one of those clips. Are you kidding??? I couldn't believe my eyes. Not just the gray hair either. Gravity sure got a leg up on that face. More jowls now. Complexion dull and dingy and awful. Looked like he wasn't sleeping and had spent months eating all the wrong things. I'm surprised that nobody's said anything about it on the air.
That job aged him rather shockingly.
Yep. Well, my sister, I can only speak for myself!
The very act of getting out of bed in the morning has become a great exercise for my face. GRIMACE-GRIMACE-GRIMACE, and more GRIMACE!
It was remarkable to witness.
Those folks are genuine heroes. Their bodies may be failing them in one way or other, but they still have guts of tempered American STEEL. The disabled and severely-disabled most of all. An AMAZING sight. My respect and admiration for them is up in the stratosphere. They were a world-class inspiration like I've seldom seen. True COURAGE.
I'd call that another way of putting one's life on the line.
We should all be extremely grateful to them. Maybe that's how our Democrats came to understand what having guts-of-tempered-steel looks like?
Kicking this for more exposure.
The hole you burn in your retina will be PERMANENT. It won't grow back or close up again.
What the hell does he mean by that second one?
Making threats against Congress now?
Bailouts for insurance companies? Why do they need bailouts? They're making money hand-over-fist with ever-rising premiums, aren't they?
