I agree. And he's making it work, economically, in his own state.

He's still my fave. Nice to see AOC agrees. I hope more people do.

It's the only planet we've got, folks.

And all the jobs in the world and all the affordable health care in the world won't mean squat if our planet's burning up.

I'd ask all the deniers - "and to what planet do you suggest we evacuate when Earth can't support life anymore? Got a spare somewhere that we don't know about?"

Yep. We won't go back to when our only medical tool was a coat hanger.

I'll tell the story of my dear late father-in-law, a kindly doctor who reminded just about everybody who saw or dealt with him as a Marcus Welby type (from the affable and caring doctor character played by Robert Young in the popular TV series that bore the character's name).

Years ago, he recalled an incident in which he was driving through town one day when he spotted a young woman, collapsed on the sidewalk, hemmorhaging onto the pavement. He pulled over, went to check on her, and made an instant decision to bundle her up into the back of his car and drive her to the hospital. She'd had a back alley abortion. His arrival on the scene saved her life. He was generally conservative in his politics and had been against abortion. But he confessed that he felt compelled to become pro-choice after that experience, and realized that abortion should be safe and legal - whether or not he approved, personally, because he knew women would still try to get abortions whether they were legal and accessible or not. Wise man. No wonder his oldest son turned out that way.

Fuck him, too!

HE isn't authorized to speak for women, either. HARDLY!!! Back when he was first running for governor in California was when we started referring to him as der Gropenator.

Wait a minute... are you talking about trump's good friend, Lotta People?

My husband is still trying to figure out who Lotta People might be. We've never seen her yet. But she always seems to be saying stuff of great significance to The Asset.

Well, he sure is making it work in his own state.

As a new grandma, I worry more than ever about what kind of planet she (my granddaughter) and all the other little babies in her generation will have.

Good Grief how fucking shortsighted things are being run these days!

I’m sorry it’s come to this, but it’s clearer and clearer to me that all the jobs in the world and all the affordable health care in the world won’t mean squat if our planet is burning up.

Those in denial seem also to be primarily GOP, conservative, dismissive of science, and against immigration and immigrants - especially those who don’t look or talk like them. The accelerating climate crisis is going to render more land uninhabitable, which is going to create legions more homeless who will be driven to migration - and where are they going to go? And too many people in a position to start doing something definitive about it refuse to accept the reality of the crisis. And there tends to be far more of that head-in-the-sand attitude among the GOP than among the Dems.

Yet another reason why we can’t lose hope or let ourselves get discouraged. We HAVE TO stay engaged and vote like our lives depend on it. Our planet’s life certainly does.

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
