calimary
calimary's JournalDAMN. I'm so sorry to hear this, montanacowboy.
I wish our four-footed friends had longer lives, just in general. When I was a kid, I did have a dog that died of cancer. Still troubles me to think of him hurting and not able to say anything to let anyone know where the hurt was. They all deserve so much better. I wish they didn't leave us so soon.
antonin scalia IS a cringeworthy blunder.
And every ruling he issues is a cringeworthy blunder.
Can I second that, and third that, and fourth that, and ...
FUCK YOU CLIMATE CHANGE DENIERS!!! FUCK YOU VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I'm SHOUTING!!!!!!
Crap. And it's hot and wicked windy today. MONSTER-HORRIBLE conditions.
Shit. And so much dry brush in those hills and canyons.
Welcome to DU, Gary Garrison!
Glad you're here! Ahhh, ralph nader. I wonder if he ever stops to think that HE is singlehandedly responsible for those four-thousand-plus deaths of American soldiers lost in the needless, useless, deceit-driven Iraq War. After all, if it weren't for him, bush/cheney wouldn't have gotten close enough to steal it. I used to admire him a lot. Decades ago. But he squandered it all, and helped to screw this country and all its people. And that's just this country. When you factor in all the other victims just of that war, across the globe, it's a LOT more victims than just four-thousand-plus needlessly sacrificed American soldiers. Who died for a LIE. bush/cheney's LIE.
"...at the expense of government by the people..." who want to breathe clean air, you mean?
How 'bout it, scalia and thomas? What about THAT category of people? Or are we now to be protecting the interests of people who claim the right to breathe in toxins? Maybe scalia and thomas are thinking of themselves. I can only imagine that breathing in lots of toxic chemicals throughout one's life might lead to one embracing the attitudes and policies they support.
I was surprised by this, too.
Considering THIS court, I would have bet they'd have ruled another way.
He comes from a family that's into public service. His father Gil was City Attorney for a long time
He ran unsuccessfully for mayor - beaten by Antonio Villaraigosa. His son seems to be doing A-OK so far. Also recently announced a city beautification program targeting one main street in each council district for upgrade, new plantings and landscaping, walkways, creating a nice atmosphere for shops and cafes - which sounds to me like a really nice thing to do for our whole sprawling city. A terrific idea, seems to me! VERY pleased with him so far.
Wow! VERY proud of my mayor, Eric Garcetti!
Just made me extra proud of L.A.! WAY cool!!! He makes a great point. All those gentlemen and athletic artists on the court are not just wearing Clippers uniforms. They're wearing the name of our city. And I do not want to see it besmirched by old white racist assholes like donald sterling - regardless how rich and entitled they think they may be.
I voted for Eric Garcetti. Very pleased to see this!
DAYUM!!! Kevin Johnson, speaking just after him (apologies for not getting the quote completely accurate): "I hope every bigot in the country sees this and understands that if he (donald sterling, that is) can fall, so can you!" HOLY COW!!! THAT ROCKS!!!!!! And this one's for YOU, TOO, cliven bundy!!!!
I'm afraid my sympathy must lie with what you said, Aristus.
If the gun-humpers don't want to hear it, that's just tough. I don't want to hear about why guns simply must be jammed down our throats from coast to coast! And I'm getting pretty damn tired of having to hear that again and again and again. Sorry. But that's how I feel.
