Oh my God. The Ugly American 2.0 - for real.
Hes an international embarrassment. Night n day difference from his predecessorjust had another close friend day the phrase of the era: I cant believe Im actually thinking fondly of dubya...
For that I think the main remedy is to take back as many governorships as possible.
AND secretaries of state (at the state level, of course). The census is coming up in 2020, and its results determine how congressional districts are reapportioned. We DESPERATELY need Democrats as governors, so the DEMS are in charge when that reapportionment happens. In as many states as possible, and as many state representative seats as possible.
If we controlled Congress again, our side could bring up and push bills to fix things like this at the federal level, but we'd have to have enough Democrats to be able to override a trump veto. Cuz he'd veto it for sure.
YES. She should be thanked! Here are some options:

DONE. I added regional contact info, too, since it's been hard to get through in DC. Here:

DUer Squinch suggested in an earlier thread that I make this an OP. Well, alrighty then!
Call DiFi's office. Either via the usual Congressional (202) numbers OR the TOLL FREE Capitol Hill switchboard numbers in my sig line.
Or look her up online and call one of her regional offices.
TELL HER "THANK YOU!!!" THANK her! Thank her for her courage and willingness to GO BOLD! Tell whatever staffer picks up that this is great and how much you love it and appreciate it and how grateful you are that she showed TRUE guts.
As a parent, I learned that you don't reward or reinforce bad behavior, BUT, you ENCOURAGE more good behavior by rewarding and reinforcing that. We certainly are able to call and complain when they do things of which we don't approve, right? Therefore, when they do something right, they need to hear the "attagirls" and "attaboys" that they've earned. If they get a lot of those, it will encourage them to do more of the same.
Add calcium supplements to their backbones!!! It MATTERS. And it makes a difference, sometimes a BIG difference.
Please never forget this "Golden Rule" of representative democracy: If they think YOU don't care, they won't, EITHER!

BTW, many of us have discovered her phone's busy. I've discovered that sometimes it's worth calling one of the Senators' regional offices. They all usually have several. And they're far more likely NOT to be busy-busy-busy because most people call Washington DC to weigh in. Go more local. You'll get through WAY easier. I tried that with Kirsten Gillibrand, to complain about her leading the railroading of Al Franken. She has several regional offices scattered around the state of New York. I called her New York City office, just for fun. I was amazed. I got right through. AND the staffer who answered gave me a fair amount of his time, as well. We had about five minutes' worth of conversation, and I gained a lot of interesting perspective and activist intel that way (like for example - how busy have you guys been? How's the volume of calls on this? Answer - remarkably heavy, considering!) But shit, I was amazed that a Senator's office in New York City was that easy to call into! New York City forcryingoutloud.

How to . . . Contact my State offices
My four state offices play a key role in gathering information about issues affecting Californians. Field representatives attend meetings and public events in the state, work with other branches of the federal government, and spend a good deal of their time in the counties they monitor.
The state offices can also help you resolve problems you may be having with a federal agency. For more information, please visit the Casework Assistance page.
Please feel free to call or write the office nearest you, or you can visit one of the offices between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. We are here to serve you.

Yep! Always reward and reinforce good behavior.
Learned that one by being a mom.
These folks always get an earful from voters when they do something wrong. So why not let em know when theyve done something right?
Adds calcium supplements to their backbone. And NOBODY needs those treatments more than our Dems!!!
ROFL!
