calimary
calimary's JournalWow, madokie, you really nailed how I feel about him, too.
I'll be 60 in May. And I too have been to the ballot box a few times. I gave to both his campaigns and consider it money well-spent. If anything, the investment is paying more dividends the second time around! And ironically, it's STILL his first term. Waning days, but it IS still just his first term.
Every day I'm just a little bit happier than I was just the day before!
Here's how you can call Congress, TOLL FREE!
It's in this thread:

Glad you're here! President Obama needs ALL of us. I've been calling those numbers and asking to speak to various republi-CONS, and pointing out to them that they are NOT to obstruct on this. Because there are MORE OF US than there are teabaggers, OR republi-CONS, either for that matter.
And there are MORE of us supporting this than opposing this. There are MORE of us who voted for Obama than for wrongney. There are MORE of us. Repeat: MORE. The public opinion polls, and even a vast majority of rank-n-file members of the NRA agree. When you call (not if, I hope, but WHEN), please remind the staffers of republi-CONS and Dems alike of these facts. FACTS. That, yet again, are on OUR side.
There are several parking areas like this at the local VA, and it's GREAT to see!
Whenever my husband and I drive through there, we inevitably comment about it - what a terrific idea it is and how I like seeing my tax money spent on things like this. WORTH IT!!!!
And it makes so much sense here in SoCal! To paraphrase that spot of Rachel Maddow's where she's standing with all those windmills, here in Southern California, we are not gonna run out of sun!
I voted for him three times! In the California primary as well as the 2008 election
and this past November as well.
I was very pleased and relieved and grateful that he won reelection.
NOW, I'm ECSTATIC!!!!!
I Love My President!!! Even prouder now than when I finished voting for him. He sure does speak for me these days. I'm seriously loving this new backbone he's showing all the time!
Me TOO!!! But lately, I'm pretty damn proud of him on a daily basis!
The money I sent to his campaign is money VERY well spent. Glad I did. It wasn't much but I hope it helped.
THANK YOU Mr. President! I stand so with you and have your back so much that you might as well have me laminated to the back of your jacket.
Disagree. WE ALL live in Newtown. WE ALL DO. ALL OF AMERICA DOES.
We are ALL Newtowners. What happened there deeply affects ALL OF US!

Check this thread for TOLL FREE Capitol Hill numbers, UPDATED and WORKING!!!
One additional, mainly for Senators:
1 (888) 907 - 1485
This one's from the Coalition for Human Needs. It starts with a recorded message thanking you for voicing your opinion to protest dangerous federal cuts to programs that help people in need. Then you input your zip code and hopefully get through. I only got the message machines for Boxer and Feinstein, but I left my opinion on there.
