New B rated Economist/YouGov Poll: Biden 24, Warren 20, Sanders 14, Harris 8, Buttigieg 5

and yes, I know RCP has Warren listed at 21%, but that is NOT what the poll says

The Economist/YouGov Poll
August 24 - 27, 2019

Biden up 2% from the last one, Warren up 3%, Bernie down 5%, Harris the same, Pete down 3%

I am sure there is something in here to piss everyone off or it would not be a poll

1. RCP Polls does strange things, they have Biden's number wrong too.

They have him at 25%.

This type of inaccuracy has been noted about the RCP Polls numbers before and for several candidates. So far it has always been erros on the high side.

2. But, hey, another poll showing Biden's support in the low 20% range...

Biden at 24%? With a +/-3% margin of error?

Seems that the last Monmouth poll showing him at 19% wasn't that different, hmm?

4. I know, and they never explain why they do it.

Their errors do effect the averages. And always on the high side. It's puzzling.

6. They pull the different number from within the poll. Biden receives 25% in both the Dems only poll

(excluding independents) and the registered voters poll. They probably pulled the number from one of those. Why they choose to do it that way is a mystery to me.

Edit: It's the RV poll. The numbers match for the other candidates, too.

So, I guess, all the poll results they list are only for registered voters? Ok... that stops any shennigans, but it would be nice if they stated that somewhere prominently.

5. They still have Biden in the lead on electability (65% of Dems, to Warren 56%, Sanders 53%,
Wed Aug 28, 2019, 02:49 PM
Aug 2019

Harris 45%).

That's the number of Democrats who said each candidate would "probably beat Donald Trump."

Interestingly, 11% of Republicans also told the pollster that Biden would probably beat Trump. (For the other top candidates. that was 8% or less.)

26% of independents thought Biden would probably beat Trump. It was the same number for Sanders, and 22% for Warren.

7. I am surprised that indies are giving Biden such low odds versus Rump
Wed Aug 28, 2019, 02:57 PM

26% for Biden v Rump from them is ridiculously underrating him.

I would take 4 to 1 on Joe and walk away more than likely with a nice profit.

Of course these are not just Democratic-leaning indies. The indies in this poll include Republican-leaning as well.

10. well, I think that giving Bernie a 26% to beat Trump is too high, but that is just me

Warren I still have no definitive sense about.

BUT

then again, a Sanders (for sure) and a Warren (say 80%) as nominee scenario WILL yield that fucker Schultz running as a an indie focusing on drawing off all centrist votes he can from us, and maybe (much less likely) even Bloomberg jumping in.

Zero clue what Steyer is going to do. He can be a nightmare if he goes full blown negative advert blitz on our top 4 or 5 in an attempt to win the nomination.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
