Toomey gets slight bump from work on gun bill

Interesting: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/04/26/toomey-gets-slight-bump-from-work-on-gun-bill/

Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) may have failed in his attempt to pass compromise background check legislation for gun purchases, but he appears have helped his political standing — albeit slightly.

A new Quinnipiac University poll shows Toomey’s approval in his state rising to a new high of 48 percent, while 30 percent of Pennsylvanians disapprove of him. That’s better than his 43/32 split from just a month ago.

(snip)

Democrats pointed out with glee this week that Sen. Kelly Ayotte’s (R-N.H.) approval rating suffered after her ‘no’ vote on the gun legislation, with her disapproval rising 11 points and her approval dropping four points in a new poll from Democratic automated pollster Public Policy Polling.

Meh. Quinnipiac. Not the best pollster. OTOH, PPP, the one that did polling for Ayotte BlueCaliDem Apr 2013 #1

was the ONLY pollsters that got the stats correct for the 2012 elections. Quinnipiac was as wrong as Gallup and Rasmussen, so I wouldn't put too much stock in their polling.
